The Venetian port- Nafpaktos

Nafpaktos

Hello dear friends! I hope you had a great week!

I have more pictures to share with you today, from my trip to beautiful Nafpaktos.

What makes Nafpaktos so unique is that it combines the sea with the mountains and that it's an all year round destination.

Here is the small pond with the preety geese, swans and ducks.

There is a big square at the center of the city with a Plane tree in the middle and lots of cafes to have a coffee and enjoy the most picturesque spot of Nafpaktos, the lovely Lepanto port.

Nafpaktos is a town with rich history. The famous battle of Lepanto took place here on 7 Octomber 1571 and it was a naval engagement between the fleet of the Holy League ant the Ottoman forces.

At the port you will see a statue of Cervantes who lost his arm in a naval fight in the battle of Lepanto.

The Venetian port is surrounded by the fortifications walls of the castle.

My dear friends, thank you for visiting my posts and for your kind comments!
Hope you have a lovely day and a happy weekend! Take care! 💙💛
